Minutes from Network Neeting at NERA 2009

The network decided to discuss the following subjects:

• Paper presentation
• Pre conference
• Nordisk Barnehageforskning
• Network Coordinator

Paper presentations

We discussed the different quality of paper presentation and that it hadn't been possible to check all the proposals before they were accepted. Some kind of review process was discussed. However due to the rather tight schedule before the conference we suggest that the quality could be improved by informing all participants that they should have a paper along with their presentation. This is not always the case.

The network also agree on inviting participants to present their research ideas or preliminary results in round table discussions or poster presentations instead of paper presentations. It was also suggested to organize a special session for ph d student.

Pre conference

Different ideas for a pre-conference were discussed. Possible ideas were; research methodology, research on assessment and grading in preschool and primary school and courses for ph d students. The network coordinator will investigate the possibility of organising a preconference for mainly ph d student.

Nordisk Barnhageforskning

Anders Arnqvist informed the audience of a new electronic paper for research in the field of Childhood Education, Nordisk Tidskrift för Barnehageforskning (www.nordiskbarnehageforskning.no). All researchers are invited to send their papers to the Journal for publication.

Network coordinator

Anders agreed to take the responsibility for the network until the next conference in Malmö, Sweden.
