Professor Berit Karseth has as President for the association been a good example of the very spirit of NERA. She has constantly in her opening speeches at our congresses and in our board meetings, reminded us of what is important and why – to both defend and develop an inclusive education for all as a base for education in our Nordic societies. She has done this with passion, in good order and not the least with great intelligence. On behalf of NERA I thank Berit with all my heart for a job well done!

As new President I will do my very best to follow. Together with an excellent board, we will carry on in the spirit of NERA, to put on the table what needs to be said and done. Our board meetings have had a tendency to turn into intellectually challenging and interesting seminars. So if the board in any way reflects the status of NERA I must say the association is in very good shape alive and kicking!

Looking forward to see you all in Lillehammer 2014.

Professor Carl Anders Säfström, President of NERA
